- Homemakers Furniture, Urbandale (10215 Douglas Ave). The store bills itself as Iowa's largest furniture store, with a showroom of around 215,000 square feet covering furniture, mattresses and decor.
- Furniture Source, Clive (1542 NW 86th Street). An independent store that carries Ashley furniture alongside other brands. If you are looking for Ashley pieces locally, this is one of the places to start.
- West Elm, East Village. The national modern-design brand has a store near downtown Des Moines.
- Slumberland, Ethan Allen and independent shops. The metro also has national chains and smaller stores for furniture, mattresses and one-off pieces. Check each store's website for current hours before you drive over.

Living Spaces is concentrated in California, Texas and the Southwest. There is no Iowa store. The closest showroom to Des Moines is at 12381 W 95th Street in Lenexa, Kansas, in the Kansas City area, roughly a three-hour drive.
Value City Furniture
Value City Furniture no longer operates.
